Contract Architectural CAD Service

The primary service offered is contracting with architectural firms on a project-to-project basis in both residential and commercial architecture. With over 30 years of experience, I have developed extensive expertise and knowledge to transform simple concept drawings into detailed construction documents with minimal supervision. There is a strong familiarity with the developmental process of creating a set of drawings, with an aim to meet clients' deadlines and provide the expected depth and style of drawing. Although little oversight is required, open communication with the client is maintained throughout the drawing process. Modern technology allows for operating from a "virtual office," while still delivering quality drawings to clients across different regions.

Custom Home Design

This aspect of my design services started many years ago when first employed at an architectural firm in Florida. Quite often we would get calls from people desiring house plans drawn up, but as we were primarily a commercial firm the owner would often pass these projects along to me to do outside the office on my own time. Designs for Living was born out of this simple beginning. Since then, I've created numerous custom homes and renovations, building a base of repeat clients and referrals. I've worked with both individual owners from simple sketches and residential developers with clear design ideas. My projects range from 600 to nearly 10,000 square feet. I aim to create homes tailored to my clients' lifestyles, ensuring they enjoy their spaces for years to come.

Standard Plans to Purchase

From designing numerous homes, I've created sets of plans available to purchase for construction. Although my site is still developing due to the effort needed for preparation, uploading, and copyrights, feel free to contact me with your specifications for square feet, rooms, style, and construction type. I can check my archives for suitable plans, which may be more cost-effective than new custom drawings and can be modified to meet your needs.

Sustainable Building Consultation

As stated in "About Me," I am a LEED Accredited Professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is a certification for buildings that aspire to meet the sustainability standards set by the USGBC. While I do provide LEED AP services for commercial buildings, my primary objective is to assist building owners and their contractors in understanding and adopting sustainable construction practices. My focus is on creating environmentally conscious buildings that integrate seamlessly with our living environment.

I advocate for the notion that constructing sustainable buildings does not necessarily entail significant additional costs. Implementing simple measures can result in long-term savings and provide substantial returns over the building's lifetime. Although not everyone aims to be entirely "off the grid," there are numerous opportunities to incorporate sustainable elements into your property.
